Combining both electronic and acoustic instruments, Xolin produces a unique sound that ultimately fails to be described in contemporary terms, however many have compared his sound to that of Portishead, Massive Attack, and Moby. Since 2002, Xolin has self-produced 6 original albums under the record label Xolin Media: Chiano Lake (2002), Monton's Way (2003), Con-formist (2004), Hypochronic Stillness (2005), In the Wake of Fever (2005), and Scream Louder (2008).
Xolin, born Colin Lenehan in Philadelphia on August 8, 1987, started piano at 6 years old and continued with cello after the fifth grade. His mastering of piano resulted in three trophies awarded by the SATD (Student Acheivement Testing Day) faculty in 1998, 2000, and 2002. Xolin's mastery of cello was equally recognized through earning top scores in Solo & Ensemble. Although he is no longer taking private music lessons since his graduation from Cranbrook Kingswood in Bloomfield Hills, MI in June 2005, Xolin continues to express his love of music, consistently including both the piano and cello in his compositions. Xolin is currently a sophomore at Columbia College Chicago where he studies audio production. |
