Listen to The Wagner Logic
In the year 2000 The Wagner Logic was formed by James Glaves and Jeremy Wagner in a basement in the woods of a small, rural, Alaskan town called Kasilof (pronounced kuh-see-loff). Approximately 200 miles from the state’s largest city Anchorage, Kasilof is well known for its world famous salmon fishing, and dog sledding. After a year long residency in Northern California, the band returned to Alaska to record and release a collection of songs in late 2007 titled “Easiest to Grab” on a label in which the duo co-manage called Wilderhood Records. The album garnered excitable international reviews from publications such as SLUG magazine, AbsolutePunk.net, Lowcard magazine, including a mention in E.Q. magazine. With help from Team Clermont Promotions the album did excellent and peaked at 153 on riyl.com’s national radio charts in December of 2007. The band supplemented the release with a successful west coast tour. After which the band headed back to the studio to write and record the as of yet untitled sophomore record. With 100 plus songs on the table the duo has cut the list down to about 16 tracks, and plan to release in October 2009. The band has been previewing new songs for fans and writers on the internet such as the driving and epic “This Number Isn’t the One”, psychedelic and anthemic “Waiting for Snow”, and the heartfelt and majestic “All In Good Time” to rave reviews from fans and bloggers alike. Melodic, psychedelic, and inventive lo-fi guitars blended with pop sensible melodies and anti-pop song structures make a sound uniquely their own, and awkwardly pleasing to the ears. The sometimes prog-esque song structures take you on a literal sound journey from start to finish. Critics have compared The Wagner Logic to My Bloody Valentine, Pavement, Lush, Built to Spill, and even Billy Idol. Due to a rural location the band has made the most out of it’s long time perpetually slow dial-up internet connection to become a chart-topping band on many international music networking sites including jamendo.com, lastfm.com, amiestreet.com, myspace.com, and garageband.com. The duo has an overwhelming catalog of over 400 songs and growing, and has made plans to release at least 1 album and 1 e.p. every year.

"It's apparent the band has spent a good bit of time putting this release together, and the time and dedication shows. There are few, if any, missteps and the end result is something that’s affecting and memorable. In just nine songs, The Wagner Logic cement their status as a band on the rise. The Wagner Logic are as good as it gets".-Absolutepunk.org

"A great combination of lo-fi pop and rock. I expect more great things to come from these guys." Andrea Rizzo/Portfolio Weekly

"These gents from the great northwest are true songwriters. Lush sound scapes and emotion tempered by expertly crafted melody and structure."- Lowcard Magazine

"If you want to know what’s going on in Kasilof, Alaska – you need look no further than The Wagner Logic, a band that’s busting out some of the sensibilities and musical relevance of The Pixies and Pavement – no lie!"- Frazer Magazine(canada)

"Every once in awhile, I’m sent a record that I look forward to playing in my car and at my house even after the review has been written and submitted to my editors. With the release of Easiest To Grab, The Wagner Logic have made such a record. There’s a blissful whimsy to their stream-of-consciousness standing counter to some of the themes being addressed in their songs that I find so damn attractive and catchy. Easiest To Grab is a rather terrific rock record, one that makes me glad that I get to review music on a day-to-day basis".- Burnside Writers Collective

"Easiest To Grab paints a pretty specific picture of The Wagner Logic – one that puts them in the running with the rest of the bands just begging to become the next hushed, borderline eccentric indie sensation. That’s not exactly a bad group to be shoved in with, if you ask me. The Wagner Logic manages to create some truly beautiful moments with minimal arrangement, and that alone is worthy of praise."- Forthesound.com
