The Sons formed a while ago in the exciting musical Mecca of Derby. Bringing together a diverse range of individual talents such as magic, fork lift truck driving and playing guitars and drums and that, they banged away in a variety of sheds, units and finally studios.
Initially they released a couple of self funded singles; the staggeringly adequate “One Man Floats” and the much improved “EP:1”. These woefully unsuccessful ventures led the band to poverty and a steadily growing local following (in the Midlands like). Recently the band has concentrated on developing its live performances, to the point where we reckon they could take on just about anyone. They have played with Nine Black Alps, Alfie, 10,000 Things, Do Me Bad Things, Atomic Kitten and Ian Brown in most of the major cities in England. The band point out that the fact that most of these bands are now fortunately deceased or rightly forgotten is pure coincidence. Anyway, that’s all in the past because the band are finally ready. Having spent the past eight months freezing and sweating in the rehearsal room and studio they have arrived at the wonderful “Visiting Hours”, the first truly essential album of the 21st Century. |
