Talented Toronto trio The Bee's Knees produce catchy tracks with great melodies, perfect for children, parents, teachers and music lovers of all ages. With outstanding production and vocals, their original songs showcase a wide variety of musical styles including Rock, Jazz, Calypso, Blues, Country and Reggae. Their debut cd, “What’s The Buzz?!” was nominated for a Canadian Independent Music Award (“The Indies”) for Favourite Children’s Artist/Group or Duo of the Year. In addition, their songwriting talents have also been recognized by the 2008 John Lennon Songwriting Competition, which named the group as one of the Top 3 Finalists in the Children’s category. They are also Parents Choice Approved Award Winners.
Andie Duncan (lead vocals, keyboards, percussion, programming) is an accomplished musician whose 20-year career includes performances on the Lilith Fair stage as well as opening theatre dates for a number of higher profile artists including k.d. Lang, Paula Cole, Joe Cocker, Holly Cole and Jann Arden.
Cyndi Duncan-Lumsden (vocals, educational consultant) provides many of the words for the music of The Bee’s Knees and brings an educational component to the project, having spent most of her career teaching Kindergarten and Grade One students at an inner-city school in Toronto.
Joe Gaitanis (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, mandolin, banjo, programming), a gifted player and songwriter, rounds out this trio and has been playing guitar and performing in and around the Toronto music scene for the better part of 25 years.
