In the early 80s, I went to my first blues jam with a guitar player friend: it was in Lady Lake, Fla. at a place called Solomons Disco 44. We would jam Albert, B.B., Buddy, Wolf, and all the usual suspects but we would also break into stuff like Ohio Players, Kool and the Gang, Sly Stone, etc and just make a bluesified jam out of it. It was fun, nothing pretentious, nobody saying "what the blues is or isn't", no trying to sound like somebody else from the past: It was just "be yourself and play what you feel". I miss those Sunday jams all those years ago and I'm hoping to recapture some of that spirit with this band, which is why its named what it is ~ Tony
