Memphis Pencils is a band from Fayetteville, Arkansas, which originally consisted of vocalist and songwriter Pibigg Martheket, bassist Dr. D.R. Dopetech, drummer George Washington, and multi-instrumentalists and vocalists Stu Cervantes and Mersault, but has, at times since, come to include Autonomous Vernal Recordings members Fever McBeaver (Social Studies), Kneel, Narwal, and Walker J. Dapper. Speaking sonically, its genres vary per song and take their cues from modern bands like Grizzly Bear, Yeasayer, Fleet Foxes, Dr. Dog, and Andrew Bird.
