Designed as a clever way to introduce her recordings, The Queen and her band, the Swing Kings, carry the audience down a musical highway of Blues, Jazz & Swing from New Orleans to New York City, Chicago to Kansas City, Memphis to Texas demonstrating the evolution of Blues to Jazz and Jazz to "Swing" in her highly acclaimed show, "Swingin' the Blues"
With a very diverse catalog of music this Piano Poundin', Bass Kickin', Rhythm Rockin' music graduate and exceptional entertainer, was labeled "The Queen of Swing" by R&B legend, Carl Perkins for her unique yet awesome piano style.
Kelli is the backbone of her band with a pulse driving rhythm, gyrating leads and a walking left handed bassline, signature piano style that “swings” in the truest definition of the word. Miss Grant won an "Honoable Mention" from Billboard for her R&B original, "The Way Love Use to Be," which captured the attention of thelargest musical organization in the world, the Grammy's. In 2006, Miss Grant was recognized as one of the top pop vocalist with her CD, "Softer Side of Swing," a CANDIDATE for 2 Grammy Nominations: "Best Traditional Pop Album" and her own, "If You Were the One" in consideration for "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance." For the 46th Grammy awards her CD,"Blues to Me!" was in contention as a CANDIDATE for 3 Grammy Nominations including: Best Contemporary Blues Album." On the list that had such notables as; Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles were her originals, "Strut My Stuff" & "B-A-D, BAD" - "Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance." Some consider this CD to be one of the most comprehensive collections demonstrating the diverse styles and formats of the "blues." Jump Blues, Swing Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Country Blues, Western Swing Blues and the low down dirty nasty sound of pure "blues," performed and written by the Queen of Swing™.
Kelli made her first trip to L.A. to attend the 44th Grammy awards ceremonies with the release of her CD, "Swing 'n Blues." a CANDIDATE for 2 Grammy Nominations: "Best Jazz Album" and "Loose Woman Blues" original - "Best R&B Performance by Duo or Group with Vocals."
One of her highest accolades came this year when she was NOMINATED by her piers to represent the Great state of Texas as: TEXAS STATE MUSICIAN.
