Born: Phoenix, Arizona Raised: Glendale, AZ Music Career: Played with many Latino and none Latin bands since I was 17 years old. "Now I'm on the wrong side of 40. I'm 57. Ouch!" Summer of 2000 did a 12 country, two month tour of Europe backing several acts. Influences: Los Lobos, Selena, John Williams, Tito Puente, Santana, Herb Alpert, Cubanismo, Maynard Ferguson, Mason Williams, Julius Wechter, Sergio Mendes, Peter Nero, and Leroy Anderson. (I'll let someone else figure out the last one) Other useless information: Why do I still live in Glendale/Phoenix, AZ: I love the heat! And all the family is here. Description: Trumpeter, pianist, vocalist, & writer: Juan Oskar produced a dance CD "Baile Buffet" that introduced original music and traditional Mexican songs in a modern dance mix. Then in 2003 did the CD "Jazz, Pizzazz, & Latino". In 2005 did "Christmas is For Grownups Too", in 2007 "Superhero" and in 2010 "Stairway to Heaven". |
