GOD’S LIGHT is an urban contemporary gospel group who's influences run from, Sam Cook, and Otis Redding, to the Temptations, O jays’,and Jimi Hendrix. Don’t let these influences fool you; these brothers give you a heavy dose of GOD’S word thru song. Their motto is, “Taking the music that came out of the church, back to church!”,Bishop/Pastor Dr. Jesse Harris,” Editor and Chief of, The Gospel News “quoted, “GOD’S LIGHT music gives you a good feeling with their wah pedals and music style that takes you back to the seventies”. GOD has truly shinned upon this group by giving us the ability to produce original music.
GOD’S LIGHT hails from the red rose city of Lancaster, SC. The group was formed in March of 2003 by manager and lead guitarist, vocalist, Aaron Austin. Other members of the group include Mark Tucker, (lead and background vocalist), and Marion Leach, (drums).The group has traveled most of the east coast, and are looking to branch out west. GOD’S LIGHT has shared the stage with many of gospel’s top groups including, Keith “Wonder Boy” Johnson, Tommy Ellison, and “Doc” McKenzie. GOD’S LIGHT completed their first CD in December of 2003, and have completed their second CD entitled, “You Must Be Baptized”. God’s Light recorded at McMix Studio’s in Atlanta, GA with, Don Mckinzie, who mixed, “The Caravans” new CD, which was nominated for a Grammy. God’s Light won recording time at McMix by winning first place at the NAGPM Conference in Atlanta, GA.
