Lennox BUPPY Brown
Singer/Songwriter Actor born in Port Antonio Jamaica and grew up in East Kingston. Inherited the love of music from his father who is a saxophone player. Buppy’s music repertoire consists of universal reggae styles: dancehall, roots and culture, gospel, lover's rock, jungle, dance, house and calypso. Buppy performs solo sometimes but mostly with his band Buppy & The Uplifters Reggae Band. With his rapid-fire lyrics and stage presence, his infectious reggae style has captivated audiences in Jamaica, Africa, United States and Europe, garnering him critical acclaim and a growing fan base across the countries. Buppy has released 2 albums titled “Bupatak” and “Universal Reggae Menu Vol.1”. Many of the songs from his albums can be heard in major motion pictures such as The Fan (starring Robert DeNiro), S.W.A.T. (starring Samuel L. Jackson), Enemy Of The State (starring Will Smith), 7 Seconds (starring Wesley Snipes), Domino (starring Keira Knightly), Hard Luck (Starring Mario Van Peebles & Wesley Snipes) and The Contractor (Starring Wesley Snipes) as well as on the soundtrack of Blade 2 (starring Wesley Snipes). Buppy songs can also be found in many independent films including Tha Eastsidaz (starring Snoop Dog) and the HBO Released A State Of Mind to name a few. Buppy has also recorded in Jamaica and collaborated with artists like Mr. Peppa, Oba Simba, and G Blunt. He released 2 7" Vinyl Singles in Jamaica and will be coming out with his "Universal Reggae Menu Vol.2 very soon. Buppy also collaborated with other artists all over the world. The song Seven Seconds that was used in the film 7Seconds, was created in Bucharest with collaboration of Marius Moga & Simplu. Now he is collaborating with a couple other music producers in Romania and looking forward for a couple of hits on the radio in Romania while completing his new album.
Buppy has been consistently capturing audiences in some of the hottest nightspots in Hollywood and southern California. He also participate in annual events like Guinness Sting in Jamaica and charities like Best Buddies of California for the deaf and disabled, The Dennis Brown tribute Prince of Reggae, Cuts for Kids, for Big Brothers, and A Taste of the Nation benefit for the homeless at Universal Studios.
Acting is also what Buppy loves to do. He also worked as a personal Stand-In & photo double for the actor Wesley Snipes in many films for the past 11 years, He has also worked as Stand-In for other actors like Danny Glover, Don Cheadle, Samuel Jackson, Forrest Whitaker, Dule Hill, Laz Alonso, Daryl Chill Mitchell and many more actors in the business. Buppy has made appearances both on TV, Stage and in Films. He can be seen in The Wayans Brothers, The Edge, ER & Numbers to name a few TV shows and can be seen in films like Crimson Tide, For The Boys, Blade 1 & 2, US Marshal, 15 Minutes and many more.
Buppy is also a church going man with a positive and righteous energy, whose messages and style uplift the soul, inspire the mind and calm the spirit & …yu still can boogie!
