Brian Jett's childhood and teenage musical influences included Stevie Wonder, Karen Carpenter, Donny Hathaway, Joe Pass, Earl Klugh, George Benson, Wes Montgomery, Phil Keaggy, Barney Kessel, and a number of vocalist from the 1940s and 50s. Notably, Sarah Vaughn and June Christy.
During the early 1990s, Jett played routinely with the Boos of the B-3, Winston Walls and on one memorable occasion, Captain Jack McDuff.
Prior to putting the guitar away for graduate studies, Jett wrote a host of songs and composed many lite jazz guitar compositions to include the soulful Benson style original, Remembering When.
Brian is currently writing and arranging gospel, country, RnB, and other instrumental jazz tunes including old hymns brought to a smooth jazz life with his soulful style that continues to grow as he does.

Brian G. Jett’s (Pen Name) name is well known among authors associated with his ability to create inspirational, thought-provoking quotations which now number over 700 - published world wide in a multitude of books, assays, scholastic missives, and Internet sources. His writings can be found in “Chicken Soup for the Soul” best selling series of books, “The Washington Post”, "New York Times", "Successful Living" by Phil Baldwin, “Wisdom Magazine”, “Venice Gulf Coast Magazine”, “Nothing To Fear” by the late Larry Burkett, Seven "Attitude2Attitude" quotation books, "Smarter2Smater" by Cynthia M Kivland, "At The Top of the Ladder" by Jerry Dollar, KentuckyPetz Magazine, "Windmills & Confetti", and a host of other publications. Brian is the author of the hallmark poem about mother and daughters, "A Window to Look Through."
