“Energetic rockers from LA with some pretty darn catchy hooks,” declares Josh Bell of the Las Vegas Weekly. Since 2001, Automatic Hotel has been a local favorite, headlining slots in clubs such as The House of Blues, The Key Club, The El Rey Theater and Hard Rock Café. Known for their infectious songs, pristine harmonies and remarkable live show, the guys have been generating quite a buzz around Los Angeles. In the early months of 2005, the band was approached with deals from several labels and decided that their best option was innovative indie label, SDS Records. The label was one of the first in the country to allow consumers to purchase and download individual songs and print album artwork straight from their website in addition to standard worldwide distribution.
Automatic Hotel has just released it's debut album "When Your Door Stands Open" with SDS Records. The band is about to begin selective touring to help promote the album. “I wanted to write songs that would really tear into people. My music comes from a place of difficult life situations and personal transition, but the songs have a tendency to be upbeat and really puts our fans in a good mood”, laughs band founder Michael Henry, adding, “So far we’ve received an amazing response from our fan base and the label was so excited that they changed our one album deal to a three album deal.”
Automatic Hotel describes their sound as “emotively charged melodic rock with a punk edge.” Their self-released 16 song debut, Firefly, fused punk and pop with 80’s style hard rock to create an upbeat, energetic sound that was well received by fans of many different musical genres. The band’s eagerly anticipated new album is available now at sdsrecords.com and everywhere albums are sold online, in addition to a few retail outlets.
