SongVault Artist Profile
Al Bachmann & Elizabeth Stein
Polka / Lounge / Vocal
Al Bachmann is a truly amazing man in the musical field whose artistry is simply phenomenal. He is a multitalented and unique individual, a composer, writer, arranger, producer and musician. There is a wide variety of music in Al's compositions, from ballad to polka, from waltz to serenade, everything well written, performed and recorded.
Al started playing the piano at the age of 6 and never looked back. Originally from Germany, Al moved to Canada in 1956 and has lived in Caledonia, Ontario most of those years. One of the highlights of his career was on June 28, 1997 when he was commissioned to play music for Queen Elizabeth II while she was visiting Canada. Al has recorded a number of LPs, tapes and CDs some of which were produced or re-released by DJ Companion Records. For 4 years Al hosted his own ďREVERIEĒ program on CKLH-FM and he appeared on CHCH- TV 11ís The Best Is Yet To Come for 2 seasons. Alís own love of music is obvious as you listen to him play.
Elizabeth Stein with her beautiful and talented voice, was the singer with Al Bachmann's band called Edelweiss Some of the songs on the German Oktoberfest cd were written just for her.
The German Oktoberfest cd contains both excellent versions of German classics such as Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen and Lili Marlene and original compositions from Al Bachmann including several polkas and waltzes. Most of the material on the cd was originally released on a number of records during the 1970ís and early 80ís and DJ Companion Records took the absolute best material, re-mastered it and have re-released it on this cd.
This cd was released because we believe this to be absolutely fantastic material for this particular demographic. There is no filler on this cd. For people who enjoy this type of music EVERY SONG is a potential hit. We are hoping you will listen to the cd yourself and get as excited about the music as we were when we first heard the LPS from which this cd was created.
